Mitch Corbett

a more affable surfer you are not likely to meet…

“I like to think I’m as easy going and surf stoked as anyone, rain or shine. I love nothing more than getting barreled. I’ve spent the past several winters travelling around the UK’s unchartered fringes on a non-stop search to find new spots and get amongst the best waves the country has to offer! Finding and riding new waves in the UK is the pinnacle of what surfing means to me. I spent my teens competing in the UK’s domestic contests and joined the national teams to compete for European and Worldwide titles. December 2009 was a pretty life changing time for me as I was rushed to hospital with a burst blood vessel that required emergency brain surgery to prevent it from crushing my brain. I was in a bad way for a while, and I’m lucky that I’m even able to walk again, let alone surf. My new outlook on life is to take full advantage of every day and whatever the ocean sends my way! I’m so excited to be part of this film as I’m going to be able to meet the people who found the waves I now spend my life waiting to break. We have it so much easier now, it’s going to be awe inspiring to hear the hardship of freezing cold wetsuits, lack of funds and general goose chasing around. Let’s hit the road, yehhaaaa!!!”
